Ramsdale's Transfer to Wolves Off
Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale will not be transferring to Wolverhampton Wanderers, as the deal has been deemed too costly for the West Midlands club. Sources from BBC Sport indicate that discussions surrounding the transfer are now considered over. The 26-year-old goalkeeper is currently seeking first-team opportunities after losing his starting position to David Raya.
Despite his desire to secure more playing time, it appears unlikely that a move to Molineux will be revived before the transfer deadline on Friday. Last week, Wolves had made a loan offer with an option to buy for approximately £20 million and continued negotiations with Arsenal over the weekend. However, the financial aspects of the deal ultimately proved prohibitive.
Ramsdale, who has earned five caps for the England national team, joined the Gunners from Sheffield United in 2021 for a fee of £24 million. With two years remaining on his contract, the goalkeeper may still seek a move away from the Emirates Stadium, but a transfer to Wolves is no longer on the table.
