Ugarte Joins Manchester United from PSG

Manchester United has successfully negotiated a transfer agreement with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for midfielder Manuel Ugarte, following the sales of Facundo Pellistri and Hannibal Mejbri. These departures cleared the way for Ugarte's arrival, as the club seeks to bolster its midfield. The talented midfielder, known for his exceptional tackling prowess, was notably absent from PSG’s recent Ligue 1 opener, hinting at the likelihood of his imminent move.

The deal sees Manchester United paying an initial £42.2 million, with potential add-ons that could bring the total to £50.7 million (€60 million). Ugarte has emerged as a primary target for United, and he is expected to arrive in the UK soon for a medical examination and to finalize personal terms. The initial asking price from PSG was £51.1 million (€60 million)—the same amount they paid to Sporting Lisbon last summer—but a compromise has been reached between both clubs.

Reports from Sky Sports News indicate that Ugarte favored a move to Old Trafford and was not overly concerned about personal terms. Both Manchester United and PSG aim for a long-term agreement, although discussions have also included the possibility of a loan with a purchase requirement. This move solidifies United's commitment to strengthening their squad as they prepare for the challenges ahead in the new season.
