Prominent social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force shortly after his recent release from prison.
The Police Commissioner of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Igwe, reportedly ordered his arrest.
Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju revealed in a tweet that VeryDarkMan was detained for exposing an individual who had allegedly scammed someone abroad. Instead of apprehending the accused scammer, the police arrested VeryDarkMan on defamation charges.
This incident comes after VeryDarkMan had spent weeks in prison earlier on allegations of cyberbullying.
Reacting to VDM’s arrest:
