Africa's wealthiest individual, Aliko Dangote, made a statement indicating that the residence he occupies during his stays in the Federal Capital Territory is not privately owned but rather a leased property.
Speaking during a press briefing held at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, on the 14th of July, Dangote emphasized that his dedication to advancing industrialization in Nigeria is the primary reason behind his decision not to own properties outside the country. Furthermore, he shared that at one point, he owned a property in London, which he subsequently sold in the year 1996.
