Olagboye Precious, a Nigerian girl, has been freed from a Libyan prison, as confirmed by anti-human trafficking advocate Yakubu Hope Oyiza. Oyiza, who was also once imprisoned in Libya, shared the news on Facebook and mentioned that they have successfully located the girl's mother, who is from Ondo State.

Having returned to Nigeria in 2017 after her own ordeal, Oyiza warned against traveling to the war-torn country due to the risks involved.

Furthermore, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) announced in August 2024 that it has facilitated the return of 298 Nigerians who were trapped in Libyan prisons back to Nigeria to be reunited with their families. This repatriation effort has been ongoing since the previous year, aiming to bring relief to those in distressing situations abroad. NEMA's initiative has provided much-needed support to these individuals seeking to come back home and reconnect with their loved ones.

The collaboration between advocates like Oyiza, organizations like NEMA, and various authorities is crucial in addressing the challenges faced by Nigerians caught in difficult circumstances abroad. By working together to secure the release and repatriation of individuals like Olagboye Precious, efforts are being made to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected by human trafficking and related issues in foreign countries.
