Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently made a statement alleging that Facebook, also known as "Meta," can never be trusted.

This declaration by Musk followed a complaint from UK biologist and writer, Richard Dawkins, who revealed that his entire Facebook account was deleted. Dawkins shared that the deletion occurred after he tweeted about genetically male boxers like Imane Khalif (XY undisputed) not competing against women in the Olympics.

In response to the situation, Musk took to X on Saturday to declare his lack of trust in Facebook/Meta. Richard Dawkins emphasized that while he recognizes his viewpoint on the matter is open to civilized discussion, he opposes any form of outright censorship.

This incident highlights the ongoing debate surrounding freedom of expression and the boundaries of acceptable discourse, particularly in online platforms like Facebook.

Both Musk and Dawkins' experiences shed light on the complexities of navigating controversial topics in the digital age and raise questions about the role of social media companies in moderating content.

  • “My entire @facebook account has been deleted, seemingly (no reason given) because I tweeted that genetically male boxers such as Imane Khalif (XY undisputed) should not fight women in Olympics. Of course my opinion is open to civilised argument. But outright censorship?” he wrote on X.
